The Phuket Food and Beverage Show will take place starting on Friday at Central Festival Phuket’s HomeWorks complex on the bypass road. This three days event will feature varied shows including contests and exhibitions in bartending, cooking, linen folding, wine butler, ice carving and more. Sponsored by Smornoff Vodka, the event will start from 11.00 a.m. to 10.00 p.m.
This event organized by the Andaman Food and Beverages Manager Club (FBMC) and Thai Federation of Food & Beverage Management Clubs and Associations. Other groups involved include the Department of Skill Development, Phuket Provincial Administration Organization, Thai Hotels Association, Phuket Chef’s Association and the local branch of the Thai Housekeeping Management Club. Whether, The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is the one responsible for promoting the event.
“This event marked the 27th Phuket Food and Beverage Show which aimed in helping those food and beverage service providers both to reach international standards as well as an occasion for them to improve their skill in this field,” said the director of TAT South Region 4 Office in Phuket Town, Bangornrat Shinaprayoon.
FBMC Andaman Chairman Sakda Wareeporn said the wide range of activities and cooperation from so many different groups helped to make the event an annual highlight for F&B workers in the region.
There is one new show introduce at this year event, that is “Ete Ice Cream Creation Contest”.
The public manager for the sponsoring Ete Ice Cream contest, Aveeporn Piyadamrong, told the press at The Metropole Hotel conference early this month that the winning creation will be on the menu list in Ete homemade ice cream shops all around the country.
Another highlight for this event will be ‘flair’ cocktail making by bartenders from across the region. This food and beverage event also coincides with Patong Cocktail Marathon 2010 in Soi Bangla Patong.
